Negli ultimi giorni ho avuto il piacere di vedere che alcuni amici internazionali si sono aggiunti ai miei followers, quindi ho pensato che scrivere sempre e solo in italiano sarebbe scortese nei loro confronti.
Quindi, d'ora in poi, cercherò di scrivere i miei post sia in italiano che in inglese.
In the last days I had the pleasure to see some international friends in my followers list, so I thought that writing my posts only in italian would be very rude by me to not let them understand what I write.

Ok, una cosa che non vi ho detto di me è che da qualche anno seguo il forum di John Howe, dal quale provengono anche alcuni dei miei amici internazionali nominati prima. Una bella iniziativa che John Howe sta portando avanti è quella di stabilire un tema per ogni mese; chi vuole può creare un'illustrazione inerente al tema stabilito e caricarla nel suo sito; le immagini possono essere votate e al termine del mese, le cinque con i voti più alti o quelle che piacciono di più a John Howe, vengono ospitate nella sezione Fan Art del suo Portfolio.
Something I didn't tell you about myself is that since some years I follow the John Howe's forum. I strongly suggest to visit his site! (I suppose that many of you already know it ;) ) A very nice initiative that John Howe makes available is the Theme of the Month "game". Every month a theme is decided and whoever wants to, can illustrate the theme and upload the picture in John's website. Every picture can be voted, and at the end of the month, the five most voted pictures, or the one John prefers, are kept in the Fan Art section of his portfolio.
In tema di questo mese è stato "HORNS" e questo è stato il mio contributo:
The theme for this month is HORNS and the previous was my contribution.
L'idea mi è venuta cercando in internet qualche immagine che mi potesse aiutare. Stavo cercando un oggetto, non volevo disegnare animali o creature mitiche. In particolare stavo cercando un corno per polvere da sparo, ma alla fine mi sono imbattuta nell'immagine di un corno-coppa vichingo sostenuto da un supporto con delle zampe di rapace. Mi è piaciuta molto l'idea, tanto che ho pensato di disegnarlo così com'era. Poi però mi è balenata l'idea dei "portatori viventi".
When I read the theme I made a little research on the internet, trying to find an idea. I was searching for an object, initially I meant to paint a powder horn, but I eventually stumbled on a viking drinking horn. I really liked the paws supporting it, and I considered to painting exactly as it is. But then, the paws leaded me to the idea of living creatures brearing the horn.
Il risultato non mi piaceva molto, mi sembrava confuso, e soprattuto due portatori mi sembravano troppi. Ho provato con uno solo, sperimentando anche come far reggere il corno al nano:
I didn't like the solution, it seems too confusing to me, and two dudes seemd too much.
I made another sketch, trying using only one dwarf (pixie, brownie... creature), and I tryed to figure out how he could hold the horn.
Ero piuttosto contenta di com'è venuto fuori il nano, ma non mi piaceva il modo di fissaggio. Non capivo come si potesse bere da un corno in cui è appeso un nano. Ho provato un'altra soluzione, studiando una sorta di supporto a cui appoggiare il corno:
I was quite happy with the dwarf, but not with the laces; I couldn't see how someone could drink in it with someone attatched to it. So I tryed something else, a sort of housing where to lean the horn.
Il tizio in basso a destra dell'ultimo schizzo arriva direttamente da Carnet de croquis : Archives de féerie, Tome 1 di Jean Baptiste Monge nel quale ho trovato molte idee per il mio nano.
The little dude in the bottom right part of the last sketch comes directly from Carnet de croquis : Archives de féerie, Tome 1 by Jean Baptiste Monge, where I found many ideas for my living bearer.
